Advanced Cancer Treatment
Today, we offer breakthrough technologies that offer new hope to individuals who are battling cancer. These therapies provide cancer treatment more precisely and with less risk, and are beneficial for many different types of cancer.
Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
IMRT is the most precise method of external beam radiation therapy available today. Physicians can “modulate” the amount of radiation dose directed to different parts of the treatment area. This is done in highly accurate, 3-D detail according to the shape, size and location of the tumor, minimizing radiation damage to surrounding, healthy tissue.
Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)
IGRT takes IMRT technology one step further. On-board imaging and treatment on a single machine allows physicians to see and track tumors during therapy, pinpoint tumor sites and fine-tune patient positioning. Knowing exactly where the tumor is allows clinicians to irradiate only the tumor and complete treatment with even greater accuracy.
RapidArc® Radiotherapy Technology
RapidArc, by Varian Medical Systems, enhances IMRT and IGRT radiation therapy by allowing treatment to be completed with a single revolution of the treatment machine. With RapidArc, treatments that once took 15 – 20 minutes can now be completed in less than two minutes.
TrueBeam™ Radiotherapy System
The latest generation of IMRT/IGRT therapy, TrueBeam, by Varian Medical Systems, uniquely integrates advanced imaging and motion management technologies within a sophisticated new architecture that makes it possible to deliver treatments even more quickly while monitoring and compensating for tumor motion. It unlocks treatment options for patients with the most complex cancers, including cases of the lung, liver, abdomen, head and neck and breast―areas most subject to respiratory motion during treatment.
Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT)
With SBRT, special positioning equipment and implanted markers in the body correct for motion and organ position during treatment, allowing for the controlled delivery of much higher doses of radiation than with traditional radiation therapy, while sparing surrounding, healthy tissue.
Stereotactic RadioSurgery (SRS)
SRS treats brain tumors in a one-day session with a precise delivery of a single, high dose of ultra-focused radiation to a specific area of the brain. SRS opens up treatment options for more complex brain cancers previously untreatable with radiation therapy.
High-Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy
High-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy uses a relatively intense source to deliver a therapeutic dose of radiation through temporarily placed needles, catheters, or other applicators. By varying the position and dwell time, the dose can be neatly sculpted to conform precisely to the shape of the tumor.
Electron Beam Radiation Therapy
Used primarily for skin cancer, Electron Beam Radiation Therapy uses tiny, electrically charged particles to target cancer cells on the surface of the body.
Positron Emission Mammography (PEM)
PEM is a special form of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) designed for imaging breasts and other small body parts. It can see tumors as small as 2mm, providing a much more accurate picture of abnormal tissue. PEM better identifies cancerous lesions, better differentiates between scar tissue and tumor, and gentle immobilization techniques prevent issues with body motion that can skew results. These capabilities make it an excellent tool for earlier detection; guided biopsy; pre-treatment planning and staging; monitoring response to therapy; and monitoring for recurrence of disease

SightLine Oncology services staffs each cancer center with a team of professionals who bring a blend of expertise in cancer care methodologies to maximize each patient’s care experience. They also work closely with referring physicians to determine the best method of treatment for each patient.
Our Board-Certified Radiation Oncologists plan and oversee the entire treatment process.
Our Physicists and Dosimetrists use sophisticated planning software to manage the physics behind each radiation treatment.
Our specially trained Nurses and Medical Technicians support the treatment process and help patients manage the side effects of cancer or therapy.
Our Cancer Navigators are a single point of contact to help patients with questions, scheduling, billing, transportation, housing arrangements, external resources and emotional support.
Our Administrative Support Teams help with appointments and provides support with billing and other administrative issues.
